Mark writes and directs for theatre and screen.
From 2013 to 2016, Mark was the Associate Director at Leeds Playhouse, and Associate Artist from 2017 to 2021. He was Studio Associate at the National Theatre from 2011 to 2013 and ran Dumbfounded Theatre from 2001, which specialised in the revival of neglected European classics. In 1999 he won the JMK Award for Young Directors – he served as a Trustee and Vice-Chair of the JMK Trust from 2006 until 2023.
He is a member of BAFTA Connect.

GIANT (PLAY, as writer) - to premiere at the Royal Court Theatre Downstairs in September 2024, directed by Nicholas Hytner and starring John Lithgow as Roald Dahl, alongside Elliot Levey.

Sold to HBO Europe, viewed 50,000 times on the short film platform Omeleto. Also screenings at Museum of Jewish Heritage, New York and LA Holocaust Museum.
MAKING NOISE QUIETLY (Feature Film, Open Palm Films, dir. Dominic Dromgoole)
Screen adaptation of the Robert Holman play, co-written with Robert Holman and Nick Drake. Released theatrically in the UK by Verve Pictures (2019).
CLEOPATRA (Short Film, writer/adapter-director)
Adaptation of Shakespeare’s Anthony & Cleopatra, shot on location at the Red Pyramid, Cairo, and starring Eleanor Matsuura and Katy Stephens. Producer: Shakespeare’s Globe/BFI & presented as part of The Complete Walk, an epic celebration of Shakespeare’s 400th Anniversary.
